Earning money, and lots of it, that's the Holy Grail! It could be worth thinking about offline money-making gigs that could generate the kind of income that I want but that necessitates serious capital to begin and I don't have the financial wherewithal to make it come true. You need money to make money, right? I could go find a job or something that pays regularly but I would much rather be a rock star so jobs, low-paying or not, are surely not an option for me.

Employment Choice Determination Accomplish Started Pays little Majority Undergo Most Doing Education Hard Cash Conclude

That presents to me another option, the online choice. The majority agrees the World Wide Web has taken the battle field of marketing totally. There is a lot of discussion about people generating tons of money on the internet and it appears to be a superbly attractive deal. There comes to mind the question of how to get started. You go through the process of discovery. First of all, you conclude that you need a website, right?

Whether hand-made or computer generated, at last you put the finishing touches to your website and it is now online. You wait. Nobody comes. You realize that having a website is only the initial point of a tortuous and difficult process. You are then faced with another word: TRAFFIC.
overnight meds | placebo meds | ali med | armour thyroid meds | free meds | herbal blood pressure meds | ku med | lack of meds in africa | med solutions | muscle meds |

Whatever comes

Penis Enlargement - cheap | Stop Smoking - cheap | Weight Loss - cheap | Women's health - cheap | Anti-Acidity | Anti-Allergic/Asthma | Anti-Depressant / Anti-Anxiety | Anti-Diabetic | SOMA | Anti-Fungus |
The easy life. After getting to know them a little bit, I learned that they too had their own taste of running after buried treasure which was a surprise. I had thought that I would be the only one I knew who went crazy about gold and treasure. Well here they were, young guys who were as crazy as I was.

The stories they told were much more involved and filled with the adventure but also the drudgery and frustration of having to dig holes, pits even on the say-so of someone who claims to be a living witness but who in the end would turn out to be a scam artist whose only contact with gold was his golden tongue that knew how to play on the gold lust of people like me and these two guys. Another friend of mine, a Japanese electronics engineer who was also bitten by the treasure bug has forsaken his old life in Japan to live in the Philippines.

Anyway, here's Cagayan de Oro City with another one: Cagayan de Oro City. My Cebu City site has made pr1, surprise, surprise. Dumaguete is still in the boondocks as far as Google goes but Dumaguete has made some headway.

Greed

Greed blinds us. I went willingly with the story spun by people less educated than me and I bought these stories hook, line and sinker. Such a fool I was.

Come to Ching''s World which is Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Dumaguete, all of which are in the Philippines. We all know about Ali Baba and his cave filled with fabulous treasures hidden from the world by a magic spell that responds to the name a tiny seed. Aladdin has a different kind of treasure, one that is capable of creating treasure on demand. We love such nonsense and never tire of them. I suppose that deep inside we just want to get treasures and, a lot of them, without having to work at all. There is a treasure which we can conjure up with our fingers but these treasures are not physical in nature but intellectual. Here are a few of them:

facing, factory, fame, fascism, fashion, festival, fiction, figure-skating, financing, fission, flavor, florence, florida, flowers, fortune, freedom, frustration, fuel-cell, fusion, game, garbage, gas, geek, gem, gemstone, ghost, goal, goat, god, gold, golf, google, gorilla, grand-jury, grand-prix, grandstand, grass, greece, greek, green-tea, guitar, hate, healing, health, heart, heartland, heaven, heavy, hell, hello, herbal, hill, history, holistic, home, horse, html, humanitarian, hurt, huston, hybrid-cars, hype, hypertension

The universe even in its vastness, is limited. This owes to the fact that the universe is material in nature. Hence, the universe is limited. Given man's proclivity for owning things and accumulating those that he cannot even hope to consume in a number of lifetimes, if there was a way of doing it, man would lay claim to the universe and call it his own. He would have a problem administering a quasar or a black hole but he would surely love to show off his title of ownership to these if it could be done.

Come into these sites: Squeak Smalltalk Adventure, The Ordinary Life, Politics: Divine Right of Kings and Presidents, Creation, Life, Consciousness.

A different kind of treasure is intellectual treasure. Here, there can be no question of scarcity. One can accumulate intellectual treasures without the danger of depriving others. We can all grab what we desire and there would be more than enough for everyone else.

Our favorites are: Ching's World, Green Tea, Dumaguete, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro City, Papoy, Moira Trinity Cagayan de Oro, Dumaguete, Cebu are all in the Philippines in the world of Ching.

Home

Living in Cagayan de Oro

If you live in Cagayn de Oro City long enough you inevitably brush shoulders with treasure hunters or people who knew people who are treasure hunters. Almost everyone has a story to tell about some treasure or other. There is the old army Colonel who used to be the terror of Mindanao who has gone through everything that he has and more. He has stories. His eyes tell you what many like him take for Gospel Truth, that Yamashita's Gold is still waiting out there.

I went back to Cagayan de Oro City again and the stories are nothing more than echoes in my memmory that no longer hold any magic for me. I no longer enjoy thinking back on those nights when I would drive alone to some rendezvous with shadowy people with stories of treasures, Wells Fargo strong boxes and Liberty Bonds.

Yamashita and his fabled gold was part of my world. but that world does not matter anymore. What matters now is Ching's World and what it stands for. Ching's World is a brave new world and may yet come true.

Another Treasure

The quest for Yamashita's Treasure might have been largely fueled by something akin to a will o' the wisp, something very nebulous and shapeless which does not really entice because of promises of fabulous wealth but more triggers the curiousity. Never in my wildest dreams did I envision myself swimming in a pond of gold and gemstones. The bigger thought that kept my mind transfixed on this quixotic quest was the thought of seeing it for myself. Never did I think that should I really come face to face with the fabled treasure, my own life would be in jeopardy.

There is never a dearth of Treasure stories in the Philippines and many foreigners come in search of these treasures. I have met one Japanese guy who has spent millions in his own quest only to fall prey to impostors and confidence men who milked him of his money and led him to failure after failure in his quest that he was so ashamed to go back and lived in Cagayan de Oro in poverty.

Visit Ching's World.

Nobody wants to fail

I do not know of anyone who is comfortable with failure. It is bad enough to lose time and money but to be confronted with the thought that one had been rushed along a stream of events that one had little control over is very disconcerting. One begins to question one's judgement and the capability to make the kind of judgement that leads to success. Certainly, the world is awash with losers but the fiction in their minds is that is is not their fault, that something or someone has kept them from achieving their goals. This is not he idea that I have of myself and I always try to find out where it is or how it came about that I dropped the ball and failed to meet my goals.

However, between our intentions and the outcomes of our actions and decisions is a big gap and very often this gap is not understood very well. Call it bad luck or misfortune, call it sabotage or conspiracy, call it oversight or unavoidable circumstancs, the fact remains that they do happen to most of us. I had my share of losing and I often think that maybe I am one miserable failure. Maybe this is my lot in life, to suffer the indignity of falling on my butt most of the time. Still, the dust in my face is not my idea of the good life; something which I will never accept as my final destination.

----0000----

Counter stress and anxiety with meditation.

Failure and its side effect

Failing miserably in the rattan venture where I lost a number of things not the least of which was a logging truck, I got to thinking of something I was told by a friend of mine who was into logging back in the days when there were virgin forests. He said that the natives who lived in the mountains were a lot smarter than us who lived in the lowlands. He behaves like a monkey and is just as clever as a monkey. He said something which I found to be painfully true: all that an indigenous native thinks about is to ge the money from your pocket. It is therefore not inconceivable that he will tell you of fabulous treasures hidden behind waterfalls, or gemstones or of planes that crashed deep in the forest. He will tell you anything and watches your eyes secretly for a glint of interestt. My friend told me that the native was an excellent psychologist and we could never get anything truthful out of him because he knows how to give just enough truth to get away with a bagful of lies.

Having a lot of people who called you "boss" and hanging on to your every word like it was the word of God, I was put in a quandary. I could not very well just disband my little group who stood by my through our adventures in the forest. All told, I had operated in three areas with three separate crews and I thought that I had handled the difficult aspects of the venture well. I was just unlucky, was my loser's thought, in an effort to provide me a consoling thought to salve my bruised ego. The thing that really got me going was the thought that I had an excellent crew who were loyal to me and would go with me to the ends of the earth for an adventure.

After a few months of operating in the mountains, I had gained a rather dubious reputation as a cool operator and pretty soon I was getting all kinds of information about this and that. That I had been burned on the rattan venture was not a reason to leave the mountains with my tail between my legs. As I had said, there were lots of information about a lot of things including gemstones and quartz crystals. I would find people at my doorstep offering me all sorts of rocks and stones: bull quartz, quartz crystals, rhodonite, carnelian, agate and other semi-precious stones. I just collected all of these and filed them in the back of my head until I could figure out what to do with this information while giving whoever brought these just enough money to keep him coming back for more..

Cool blogs basking in the blog park. Visit these pages:

Dennis Bryan S. Rattan is classified as Minor Forest Products and there are rules and regulations governing their cutting and transport. Not everyone is allowed to cut rattan. One needs to have a cutting permit. This is usually granted to indegenous peoples organizations. While this is meant to provide livelihood to the indegenous peoples living in the area where rattan is being harvested, what really happens is a far cry from what the laws intended. Cutting permits can be bought from whoever has them, It is therefore a fact that those who have cutting permits never cut any rattan in their lives. They just sell thes permits to anyone who wants them.

Transcporting rattan needs another permit. While a permit is used only for one trip, because it is so hard to get a permit to transport minor forest productrs, it is secretly recycled so that it can be used over and over again. The trick is to pay off the forestry officials who man the checkpoints. Transporting the rattan poles by water gives the other government agents another chance to make bribe money. Upon reaching Cebu, the cost would have gone up dramatically. While it may appear lucrative on paper, the actual experience of going to the mountains, regotiating with the cutters, transporting the rattan poles, is so tedious and dificult it was not worth the money you get once you bring the poles to the market.

Cool blogs basking in the BlogPark. Visit these pages:

Thoughts on the ideal world

The Blog Bum

Karma and Science

Papoy

Underdogs World

The Philippine Rattan Industry

When one talks of the Philippine Rattan Furniture Industry one is really talk about the Cebu Rattan Industry. Cebu, at the height of its rattan furniture boom accounted for most of the manufacturers and exporters in the country and for the world for that matter. If you find rattan and wicker furniture in the United States or Europe chances are it came from Cebu. Watching the big factories churn out container vans loaded with rattan furniture and inhaling the fumes of the lacquers and the coating while touring their working areas, one could not help but wonder of the costs both in human terms and in environmental terms.

Rattan and logging go together. The big logging companies race to cut the most trees without really considering the rattan that clings to its trunk. These are harvested by small operators who make a bit of profit for their effort. The big-time loggers usually become important politicians owing to their wealth and their desire to protect their business interests. It is not unusual to find a Mayor of a town or city, or a Governor of a province, or a Congressman who also has logging interets or who is connected to sponsors who are loggers.

When I first ventured into this ill-fated roller-coaster ride, I had seen supplies of raw rattan in Cebu becoming more and more scarce and fool that I am I figured I could find a way to cash in on this. They say shit or decaying flesh attracts flies. I know it to be true literally and metaphorically. This little adventure of mine brought out of the woodwork the marginal and unsavory characters who would eventually bury me in stench.

Visit these sites:

Lotto

Dreams: Oracle or nothing more?

Fear, sex, eating, sleeping

War on Poverty?

Underdogs World

An innocent beginning

When first I ventured into the mountains it was to look for a suitable supply of Rattan which was rapidly dwindling as the lush tropical rain forests of Mindanao fell to the screech and whine of gasoline-fed chainsaws transforming thisdiverse and fertile ecosystem into barren wastelands as marginal farmers burned the undergrowth to plant corn and cassava. The rich topsoil would soon fall to the onslaught of the steadily falling mountain rain which draws tiny trickles together and bond them into rivulets that grow and swell and surge into floods that devastate without feeling, without thought or malice. I was told that in the hinterlands there were still patches of forests which the logging companies had determined were too expensive to operate on. Rattan starts out creeping on the ground and finding a tree begins to climb it. The majestic Philippine mahogany is host to this creeping, climbing wonder which when turned into furniture by the superb craftsmen of Cebu becomes furniture unrivalled in beauty, durability, strength and inventiveness of design.

The stories of Yamashita's gold has always been with us having lived in this fabulous island which is so rich in natural treasures that only the ones who knew intimately about these buried, man-made treasures would pursue their excavation in the dead of night away from curious, prying eyes. Stories often mention President Marcos as having stolen a Golden Buddha which was supposedly unearthed by a treasure hunter named Rogelio Roxas.
